About Meniscus Mark
Meniscus Mark is a small independent web game focused on careful reading of a 50 mL buret and transparent delivered-volume arithmetic.
Clean-room implementation
The project uses original React code, one original scale conversion, original SVG geometry, deterministic seeded questions, error explanations, interface copy and generated editorial art. A public older tutorial helped identify that responsive, touch-friendly practice could be improved; it was not used as an asset library or implementation template.
Meniscus Mark does not copy Chem21’s value array, Adobe Animate file, canvas dimensions, graphics, controls, wording or software. It is not affiliated with Chem21 or another tutorial provider. Dependency and generated-material records are maintained in the project’s THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES file.
One model with explicit limits
The game models a 50 mL buret with 0.1 mL printed graduations and a transparent aqueous concave meniscus. It teaches that this scale increases downward, the lowest point is read at eye level, one extra digit is estimated, and delivered volume is final minus initial. It does not generalize those rules to opaque liquids, mercury, every buret design or every laboratory protocol.
No fabricated operator identity
The site does not claim a company, school, laboratory, accreditation, instructor or professional organization. There is no private support desk. Reproducible functional, accessibility, privacy or rights concerns can be shared through the verified public GitHub profile linked on the Contact page.
Educational use
Meniscus Mark complements instruction; it does not replace a teacher, a laboratory safety plan, equipment documentation, supervision or real glassware practice. See Terms for the complete boundary and How to play for the modeled method.
